Matthew Gough

Armed with a Tonmeister degree (Music and Sound Recording BMus), Matthew worked as a classical music engineer/producer for big labels such as Decca, DG and EMI before his natural talent for post production sound for picture was soon spotted. Beginning at Boom Ltd working with Paul Hamblin he soon moved to De Lane Lea, where he rapidly gained experience and a reputation working on some of the highestprofile
projects in the film industry. It was whilst at De Lane Lea that he received a nomination for a British Academy Award for his work with Walter Murch and Mike Prestwood-Smith on Cold Mountain.

In the spring of 2005 he left De Lane Lea to pursue a freelance career as a rerecording mixer, Sound Supervisor and Director of Sound, mostly in London but also in New York, Chenai, Dubai and earning a Best Sound nomination in the Czech Film and TV Academy Awards.

With 72 feature films to his credit, Matthew has a well-established track record as both an effects mixer on large-scale Hollywood films (The Brothers Grimm, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Alfie) and also as lead mixer/sound designer (including Anthony Minghella's Breaking and Entering, the critically-acclaimed Do I Love You? from independent film-maker Lisa Gornick and Making Waves and Tracker from Eden Films).
